day 10: stir fry

And then there were 10. Ten days down!

Had what is becoming my go-to meal for breakfast - PB & Banana.

Breakfast  Quantity   Cost   Calories
peanut butter     1  $0.76   180
banana     1  $0.31     90
bread, wheat     2  $0.40   160
coffee     3  $0.28       3

 $1.76    433

Nothing to get excited about, but it's filling and it includes a piece of fresh fruit.

Lunch was even less interesting - left over beans and a banana.

Lunch  Quantity   Cost   Calories
baked beans    1.00  $1.60    420
banana    1.00  $0.19      90

 $1.78    510

During the afternoon I had a bag of peanuts ($0.50; 260 calories) as a snack.

But dinner - dinner I was excited about. I've been planning this dinner for days.

First I chopped celery, then carrots and peppers...

Then stir fried all the veges in a bit of I can't believe. Then added the canned chicken breast and teriyaki sauce to make a chicken and vegetable stir fry, over rice.

You know, it really didn't taste bad. I wouldn't have wanted to go out to a restaurant for it, but not bad. But it was pricey for a home-cooked meal - $4.11, almost half of that from the chicken.

Dinner  Quantity   Cost   Calories
pepper    0.50  $0.50      7
celery    1.00  $0.38      2
carrots    2.50  $0.31    29
chicken, canned    1.00  $1.75  156
mushrooms    1.00  $ 0.60      5
I can't believe    3.00  $0.04     15
teriyaki sauce    1.00  $0.15     20
rice, instant 1     $0.39   170

 $4.11 404

Later in the evening I got hungry so I had some oatmeal ($0.33; 153 calories) with raisins ($0.43; 120). The milk had gone sour, so I mad the oatmeal with water.

Even with the fancy dinner, the day total was not too bad.

Day totals:

Cost: $8.41
Calories: 1880
Exercise:  320 calories from 13,390 steps (1 hour on treadmill, some walking around)
weight: 169.5
