Day 13: back in the groove

Day 13 started out with the ubiquitous PB&B (peanut butter and banana) sandwich and coffee.

Breakfast  Quantity   Cost   Calories
bread, wheat 2  $0.20 160
peanut butter 1  $0.42 180
banana 1  $0.19 90
coffee          3.00  $0.28            4

 $1.09         434

I'm not sure what Kerryn thinks of PB&B, but it seems like pretty close to perfect food to me. At least on this diet. Protein, vitamins, a decent amount of calories, and cheap to make.

The day got a little fuzzy after breakfast - my daughter needed to get a haircut, and then the haircut turned into a shopping trip. Luckily I had a large bag of hot peanuts ($1.00; 510 cal) in the car. Lunch! (I'm pretty sure that one does not pass Kerryn's approval. But it was there.)

More coffee in the afternoon when I got home ($0.28; 4 cal).

Early dinner - grilled cheese sandwich and a can of mixed veges. When I finally did eat, that really wasn't enough. So I wound up frying myself two eggs.

Dinner  Quantity   Cost   Calories
bread, wheat   2.00  $0.20 160
cheddar   1.00  $0.40 110
I can't believe   5.00  $0.07   20
mixed veges, canned   1.00  $2.09 140
eggs   2.00  $0.59 155

 $3.34 585

Later in the evening I was hungry again, so I had 4 ounces of carrots ($0.50; 51 cal) with a tablespoon of ranch ($0.24; 70 cal).

Day totals:

Cost: $6.44
Calories: 1,654
Exercise:  374 cal from 13,472 steps (including 1 hr walking on treadmill)
Weight: 169.8

In case your wondering why I don't just go walk outside, here is the neighbor's mailbox:

Kerryn is interested in the role of the "built environment" and it's impact on health. I'll say the environment is doing a good job all by itself impacting my ability to exercise right now. It doesn't need any human assistance.
